A Bridge Between Worlds

I am Dr Iva Bajic-Hajdukovic, a social anthropologist, energy healer, storyteller, and traveller of ancient waters. My path began with the study of languages, material culture, anthropology, migration, and food studies. Yet, it soon led me beyond the academic and into the realm of the intuitive, the ancestral, and the unseen.

Rooted with one foot in the UK and another one in the Balkans, where my ancestors lie - yet carried by the memory of Africa and the teachings of the Nile - I help people listen to the stories held in their lineage, their bodies, and the landscapes that shaped them.

My path in energy healing and ancestral work opens doorways into memory, intuitions, and deep reconnection. I work with practices rooted in my ancestral lineage of the Balkans, underpinned by the teachings of numerous wise women and men I learned from in the UK and through years of learning with the rivers across the world.

As a writer of both fiction and non-fiction, I explore the mysteries of motherhood, identity, memory, and belonging. My storytelling is a bridge: between worlds, disciplines, and ways of knowing. I am a mother of twin boys who have been my two greatest teachers in life so far. They opened my heart and awareness more than anyone else and continue to do so daily - teaching me the wisdom of flowing like water along the motherhood journey. Being a first-generation immigrant and raising children in Britain placed me once again in a liminal position, a bridge between worlds, negotiating daily between “us” and “them” and learning and growing into an awareness of oneness. Our lives are shaped by the stories others tell us and by the stories we tell others, including our children. Once we become aware that we are responsible for telling our story, the power shifts, and the walls and divisions start to crumble.

My work is a weaving of research, ritual, healing and story. Everything I create is in service of people returning to their centre - through story, through ritual, through the body, and through landscape.
